About us: The Rechsteiner World
The winery is part of a stunning complex of ancient buildings spanning over 6 hectares, set within a historically and architecturally significant context. Our mission is to showcase the best of our terroir through high-quality products, bringing the authenticity of Venetian tradition to tables around the world.
A little bit of history
In 1870, Friederich Rechsteiner, co-founded the transport company “Fischer & Rechsteiner”, and in 1881, he purchased the Estate and its 17th-century Villa from the Revedin Family. The property, was originally owned by Bonamico Family and later by Cardinal Ottoboni.
It has remained in the Rechsteiner family ever since. Today, the Estate is managed by a direct descendent: Baron Florian von Stepski-Doliwa, the great-nephew of Friederich Rechsteiner’s daughter, who married a von Stepski-Doliwa.
The Estate
The estate consists of more than 6 hectares, including the 17th-century Barchessa and the 19th-century Latteria (cheese factory) featuring the Torre Piccionaia. These buildings have been fully renovated and today, they house the multifunctional hall, the wine store and the tasting room. The romantic
English-style Park, covering more than 3 hectares, features the original Tempietto del The (a small temple where afternoon tea was served), a very charming lily pond and the ancient icehouse, now home to wild animals such as foxes, badgers and squirrels. And, finally, we find the elegant 17th-century Venetian Villa, which was inspired by the architecture of classical Venetian palaces.
Sustainability & Conservation
We are committed to practicing sustainable and responsible agriculture every day, based on our belief that natural resources are a gift and are not inexhaustible. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the land while minimizing waste and conserving resources. One of the steps we’ve taken in this pursuit is achieving VIVA certification in 2018. This certification evaluates, through defined scientific parameters, the environmental impact of our activities on four key areas: air, water, land, and vineyards.
Social Commitment
For years, we have been dedicated to the well-being of the community and the territory in which we live. Since 2019, we have been a farm for schools and, since 2023, we have also become a social farm. We create engaging, educational opportunities for both adults and children.
Additionally, we offer our Estate’s spaces for enjoyable gatherings and moments of relaxation dedicated to the elderly, as well as, hosting schools and associations, providing access to the Park, the Medicinal Herb Garden, the Orchard, the Cellar, the Educational Vineyards, the bee-friendly hedge with our hives.
