Every month, in our cellar, we celebrate the excellence of our vineyards through the ‘Wine of the Month’ column, an opportunity to share our most representative products with you. This April, we are delighted to present our Manzoni Bianco Venezia DOC, renowned for its elegance and aromatic complexity. For us, this wine represents the most iconic white wine in our cellar, a wine that best expresses the potential of this prized native grape variety from Veneto, obtained from a cross between Riesling Renano and Pinot Bianco.
Manzoni Bianco, technically known as Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13, is one of the most representative grape varieties of modern Italian viticulture, and is the result of important scientific research conducted between the two world wars.
Its “father” is Professor Luigi Manzoni, head of the Conegliano School of Oenology (Treviso) in the 1930s, a key figure in the history of Italian oenology. During that period, Manzoni led an ambitious programme of controlled interspecific crossbreeding with the aim of obtaining varieties that were more resistant to disease, productive but also of high organoleptic quality. One of the most successful and long-lived of these experiments was Incrocio 6.0.13, better known as Manzoni Bianco.
The number 6.0.13 refers to the exact location in the vineyard where the cross gave the best result, namely the 13th plant in the 6th row.
Visually, Manzoni Bianco Rechsteiner has a bright straw yellow colour. On the nose, it offers an aromatic bouquet that combines notes of nectarine, crisp apple and delicate hints of acacia flowers. On the palate, the structure is soft and enveloping, supported by a pleasant acidity that enhances its freshness. The finish is harmonious and persistent.
This wine pairs perfectly with spring dishes, ideal with asparagus, asparagus risotto or asparagus and eggs. It is also perfect with fish dishes, risottos and seasonal vegetables, as well as mushrooms in autumn, offering a refined and balanced culinary experience.

Manzoni Bianco Rechsteiner scored 90 points at 5 Star Wines, the Vinitaly 2025 wine competition, and has received several international awards, such as the silver medal at Decanter 2024.
