Tenuta Rechsteiner is a magical and fascinating place where wine and art come together and you can fully experience the multifaceted vocation of our Venetian Villa.
Venetian Villas were born in the 16th century as a summer residence for the aristocracy needing to manage their agricultural business in the countryside. Historically, in addition to the manor house, Villas also included rustic annexes housing crops and livestock.
In the past, the Villa was the meeting place, a place of trade exchange and leisure, a melting pot of knowledge, friendship and flavours. It was a small self-sufficient and sustainable ecosystem embracing several aspects.
Over the years, the owners of Villas enriched their estates with artwork and impressive gardens, like our Romantic Park, to stand out and be unique among the others.
After 500 years, the combination of the Villa and Agricultural Estate still thrives at Rechsteiner with an ever-increasing focus on promoting cultural and artistic events.
By visiting Rechsteiner Winery, you can relive the varied world of an exquisite Venetian Villa, and discover wine, architectural, natural and gastronomic treasures.
The buildings have remained intact over the centuries, but their use and function has changed… the Barchessa is now a hall dedicated to events. The dovecote is presently a small room for meetings and tastings, while the icehouse in the Park is a place for artwork.
The eighteenth-century cellar maintains its original intended use: in it, we still vinify our grapes, obtained from 53 hectares of vineyards cultivated in compliance with the ministerial VIVA sustainability certification.
A particular focus is our commitment to native vines such as Tai, Manzoni Bianco and Raboso.
This red old Venetian wine is refined for 3 years in our cellar… an emblematic place of Rechsteiner estate as it also hosts art installations as well as classical music enjoyed from a state-of-the-art sound system.
Rechsteiner also promotes wine and music pairing during the Masterclasses held during the summer months, culminating with a concert inside Rechsteiner Villa followed by an aperitive with our wines and appetizers.
Villa Rechsteiner Park combines art, nature and storytelling offering a unique experience because of its centuries-old trees, the icehouse and the waterlily pond that is reminiscent of Monet’s famous paintings.
